proboards forum RPG games question

Okay, there seem to be rather a lot of RPG forum games on/ hoasted by proboards. There's stuff like Zombie Road, Blood Squares, Hope in Chains, Pitch Black, Transformers, and others. These games are browser based, so no telnet or plug ins to play them. And, some have a link near the bottom to click to make the thing add free.
My question is has anyone here played any games like these or do you know anyone sighted/blind that has. Are these things even worth signing up for? Some are text based and some have graphics and some both.
Most, if not all, are free.

they're all free, they are forum based, not like your other browser based rpgs... i've owned a few in the past, i've been on a few in the past, there is only one problem... they have a capture image, but no audio capture... but, if you like writing story type things, then, by all means, sign up, you'll just need sighted help...

sigh, i miss my proboards forums.. they were fun, but didn't have many members...

Wow, haven't been to proboards for a while. I have a forum on there, but i don't use it for the pure reason that there appears to be no way to disable the captcha for new registrations. As for these games, can you give us some url's so we can have a look at them? Do they work with the braillenote or are they flash based games like a lot of the forum arcade games. I know the games that are played using the PhpBB forum arcade mod are all flash based, so I wonder whether proboards is the same?

Some seem to be proboards and others seem to be on something called invision host. I think I got the url from someone on here for zombie road. I'll post some links but as to flash or not, I have no idea as I really haven't tried signing up on any yet. I know some are based around vampires like Dance Macabre and others off the tv show Heroes. And as to members, some don't seem to have a lot of them, but they still seem to be open and working. I think the ones off invision might be similar to real RPG more than forums, but let me do some more checking. There are some rather decent text browser based games I've found too, mainly cause I was gathering links for my web page on these games, and that's how I came across the forum ones off proboards.

i haven't played proboards forum games in ages. as i said, it's been annoying, i was on two, my friend used to have one called pikens, it was a pet game, you go and have adventuries with them, and all sorts of stuff, all just by writing everything down like a story, you start, someone comes along and does something to your char, it's really hard to explain...

then she had another one that sadly didn't get off the ground about having your own dragon..

i had one, that was a lot of different races, and a fanticy planet,
as well as a pokemon one...

was on another pokemon one, but that never went anywhere.

i saw one for the dark jewels triology books by anne bishop, but, that was in the past year when they had the image captures...

sigh, i miss them.. and i miss my old games...

When did RPG's become popular on Proboards? Damn I'm out of the loop.

Does anyone else see the similarity between forum-based RPG and cybering? Now that I've done the latter, maybe I might appreciate the former. I used to have doubts about whether I'd like forum-based RPG. Haha.

Well, I can tell you this, and later I'll put up some links, but there seems to be a lot of proboard ones out there, more than I tought. However, each one I checked on the sign up page had some stupid security thing you have to type in and there is no audio for it or even something that says graphic. So, someone with magnification or a sighted person might have to help sign up.
I've found some hosted by something called invisionfree and those don't seem to have security checks to sign up, but they're still forum based. Give me a day or so and I'll put up some links for both. Its been really nuts around here. Oh, as to flash based or plug-ins for these, I don't think so as it says nothing about those, but there are graphics on the screen. I think that most of the games are text based, forum writing, and the pictures don't affect game play.

i'm not sure why one would have security and others not, but probably, everyone's excuse, to stop spam... or some such.

I might try to make one again, key term, being, might.

I don't know, but all the ones for proboards want you to type in a code that's in an image and the two up there that don't need the security code are from invisionfree. I've more, but that was just a sample of the ones I've got listed.
